Val Vista Academy Kinder Prep and K - 3 students were treated to an inspiring visit from beloved children’s author, illustrator, and Gilbert, AZ resident, Nicole Matheny. Known for her book entitled, The Best of Friends, Ms. Matheny spent the day sharing stories, answering questions, and encouraging young readers to embrace the magic of imagination.
Held in the school’s multi-purpose room, the day’s festivities began with a lively reading of The Best of Friends. Students listened intently as Ms. Matheny brought the characters to life, sparking laughter and applause.
The event was part of the school’s ongoing literacy initiative, designed to foster a love of reading and writing among students.
It was a day to remember for both the children and the teachers who witnessed their excitement!
