Enrollment
Here in Arizona, families have the ability to choose among district and charter public schools, where they feel their children will get the best education. Charter schools are open-enrollment, tuition-free, public schools that operate based on a contract with their authorizer. Ball Charter Schools provides parents and students an alternative to traditional public school systems. We have high expectations and standards that value the school-home partnership as essential for student success.
Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is the period prior to the start of each school year when parents/guardians can complete an application for each child to their desired school(s). Open enrollment dates for the upcoming school year will be posted on each school’s website and will take place during the following dates:
November 3, 2023- January 19, 2024
Required Documentation for Enrollment
Enrollment applications are all completed digitally through our school software, PowerSchool. Parents should complete the process by submitting a complete enrollment packet. Parents will also upload a birth certificate (original or certified copy), proof of residency and proof of immunizations. Applications received will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Admissions
Ball Charter Schools may limit admissions based on age group or grade level, but will not limit admission based on ethnicity, national origin, gender, income level, disabling condition, or proficiency in English.
Entry of eligible students into any Ball Charter School is based on space availability. Preference for any available openings will be given to returning students and siblings of students currently enrolled at Ball Charter Schools and the children of staff and Board members.

Dobson Academy
Dobson Academy opened in Chandler, Arizona in the Fall of 1998. Dobson Academy is a highly-rated Pre- Kindergarten through 8th grade public charter school.
Hearn Academy
Hearn Academy opened in Phoenix, Arizona in the Fall of 1998. Hearn Academy is a highly-rated Preschool through 8th-grade public charter school.
